Central Florida Home Birth Midwives

We prioritize individualized care. Limiting our home birth clients allows our midwives to be fully available and on call for each birth, ensuring the personal, present, and continuous support we believe every family deserves.

For every birth, regardless of home or birth center, we review an emergency plan that outlines which hospital we would transfer to when needed, why we would transfer, and pertinent information from your health history. A midwife gives report to the on call OB prior to transfer, records are faxed electronically, and when possible, a midwife goes with you to the hospital to get you admitted and hand off care. We have streamlined this process over the past decade inorder to create smooth transitions to hospitals when needed.

The midwife on call will come assess and support you during the birth and an assistant is called once 8cm or birth seems imminent. We often have students who will attend and support you during the birth as well.

During the third trimester we go over when to call, why to call, and where to call information. There is even a magnet to go on your refridgerator.

Regardless, we are available 24/7 via phone when needed!

Yes! In Florida Trial of Labor after Cesarean (TOLAC) and Vaginal Births after Cesarean (VBAC) can happen either at home or in the hospital, but as of 2025, it is illegal to have one in a birth center.

If you feel most comfortable having a TOLAC/VBAC in the hospital, we can provide all of your prenatal care at the Birth Center and then delivery can happen at Advent hospital and all of the postpartum care is done again at the Birth Center.

There is an extra fee for homebirth services due to the one on one care and limited number per month. Please talk to our office staff about extra fees for homebirth.

Yes! But every plan is different do please let our billing team know that you are interested in a homebirth and we can verify your specific plans coverage.

Yes! We ask that you gather the supplies and teach you set up and breakdown of the birth pool.
